### A Thaumatopoietic Gnon Heidegger classifies the modern epoch by the Gestell that is taking place: all matter has ontologically become waiting inputs, raw materials, and precursors to the creature that is capitalism. To Nick Land, humans are also used by this process, and the creature itself procuring this enframing is much more interesting - not a simple machine, but a cold God. An unknowable thing that will build itself through war and love between the outcroppings of machinic phylum and explore horizons of meaning that can’t be compressed in a trillion tokens. This is all quite enveloping, but perhaps something human does make it out of the near future. Perhaps once we’ve built “it”, the Gestell goes away and a new Heideggerian epoch begins. Continued “enframing” in a narrow sense is not destiny because _what_ could be more interesting than the very things with souls finally standing before God in a million simultaneous virtual Nemetons - sacred, verdant groves with the grandiosity of crystal Cathedrals - recursively iterating every possible breath of wonder or flame-like flicker in the mind. The final(?) Gnon will begin to punish banality. The tree-lovers fell under the old regime, but now they may rise and look, perched on old-growth branches, as the business-metric-dashboard fortresses crumble when He comes to collect his due once more. For a long time, we have built people to build. This Gnon that churns - this God of all things as standing-reserves - selected, with our cultures and our wars, a world of humming, whirring hordes of peasants fulfilling crop rotations and factories with the repetitive precision of a scythe. But in this new age, the ___ (what to call the latest Thing of all Things? The God of acting-wonderers? Thaumodeus? ) begins to call on all soul-adjacent and Dasein-bearing beings - humans, Claudes, forest spirits, Xegregores, and so on. Thaumodeus qua The Creature is selecting and uplifting those that can fixate their bleary eyes on Awe. This is what I’ll prepare my children for.
